BBC staff slam FM&T revamp – Broadcast

Broadcast reporting on discontent among BBC staff over restructuring:

"However, insiders are angered by the decision to plough ahead with the restructure before the Putting Quality First review has been approved by the BBC Trust, and fear the 25% cuts the review proposes will be almost exclusively focused on online content – which currently sits as part of Vision under Simon Nelson, controller of multiplatform and portfolio.

They are also concerned about the personnel departures. It is understood that Newman, who was an outspoken opponent of the changes, was asked not to apply for the new roles. The BBC declined to comment and Newman could not be contacted."
